Jerry West coached the Los Angeles Lakers from 1976 to 1979, compiling a regular season record of 145-101.

Playing Career

Jerry West was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 2nd overall pick in the 1960 NBA Draft. He played 14 seasons with the Lakers, averaging 27.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

West was a 14-time NBA All-Star and was named to the All-NBA First Team 10 times. He was also the NBA Finals MVP in 1969.

West retired from playing in 1974 and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980.
