Hungary Striker Suffers Head Injury in Scotland Clash
Captain Szoboszlai Breaks Down in Tears
WEBHungary player Barnabas Varga is stable in hospital after he was stretchered off the pitch in the country's Euro 2024 match against Scotland. Varga collided with Scotland goalkeeper David Marshall in the 26th minute of the game and was treated on the pitch for several minutes before being taken to hospital.
Varga is now conscious and communicating with medical staff, but he will remain in hospital for further observation. Hungary captain Dominik Szoboszlai was left in tears after seeing his team-mate suffer the injury.
Scotland won the match 2-1, but the result was overshadowed by Varga's injury. The Hungarian Football Federation has released a statement saying that they are "deeply concerned" about Varga's health and that they are "sending him all our best wishes for a speedy recovery."
