This was the mother and father of all FA Cup ties and in the end Manchester United somehow scraped through 4-2 on penalties after a beyond valiant.
Coventry City might be out of the FA Cup but they leave the Ricoh Arena with their heads held high after giving one of the world’s biggest clubs a huge fright.
United will now face Manchester City in the final on 19 April and the Sky Blues will be favourites against a team who have lost four of their last six and have a brittle look about them.
But with Cristiano Ronaldo back in the side after injury and Paul Pogba also returning to the starting line-up, United have quality in abundance and they will be confident of beating their bitter rivals.
However, they will need to improve defensively if they are to have any chance of lifting the trophy.
